A patent license is an agreement that enables an individual to use their invention commercially. To use your intellectual property commercially to earn money, you have to get the patent licensed first and foremost. The validity of your license can be only for a certain period. Those who own the invention are licensors whereas those who receive the license are known as licensees. A license agreement with other organizations is the right way to establish a mutually beneficial relationship with them. Granting license to others not only lets licensors continue their earnings but also help them continue to get the right over their property.
